It's Spring
It's planting time in Texas. As a matter of fact it has been warm for sometime here in the central part of the state. We've been enjoying the collards from the fall planting for several weeks and the onions are starting to come through now. Many have been brave enough to put out their tomato plants, but I'll wait a few more days on that one.
We have had a couple of good rains lately and as soon as the ground is dry enough to till I'll plant several rows of green beans. It will take them several days to sprout and by then maybe the danger of frost will have passed. Okra and yellow, straight necked squash are two of my favorite garden items to get started early and I'm ready to get started as soon as the weather permits. Hope everyone has a good season this year.

Re: It's Spring
Well, I am not near that point here yet. I did toss out a few flower seeds (hollyhocks) in the flower beds by my front door, but those are hardy little buggars and could have been there all winter long without a problem. I am still getting snow on and off yet. It has been a super dry winter and so far spring looks to be rather parched. Wildfire season should prove to be a hum-dinger this year.
