Lanna, I am not trying..You have successfully turned me into a hatch-o-holic! Well at first I set 6 mottled bantam cochin eggs. 4 were viable, but since two have died and have been removed. I also set 29 jumbo coturnix quail eggs. The cochin eggs are due a week from today, and the quail eggs in 10 days. I am going to set another 20 coturnix quail eggs tonight along with 8 button quail eggs. When my ship comes in (taxes) I am going to buy a GQF 1502, I think. Cant decide if I want one of those or a Dickeys. Any opinions?

ok your forgiven for not posting pics of the incubator full of eggs. A new building for chickens is just as exciting. sooo...how many can you fit in there?

At 96 sqft...it all just depends on the size of the birds...And I do not remember what the suggested requirements per bird are...I know I can have a whole bunch of chicks in there...

For right now, it is only going to be used as a brooder, so I can keep the birds out of the weather..and out of the house..LMAO, but I am really planning on getting another one...I dont know if my roommates know this yet..but they will soon find out. Yes quail need to be completely enclosed, or they will not be captive any longer. I plan on building "boxes" to brood in out of plywood. I will probably have a couple of them in there, and I will build a chicken wire screen to go over the top. As for right now that is the plan. I am thinking that I am fixing to order 25 brown egg layers. But I am just patiently waiting on my federal return to get here so i can get an incubator...Salavating at the mere thought!!!
