Ferdi's photo album

For those of you that don't know the story, I will tell it again.

OK so I have a Muscovy duck that was sitting on 5 eggs. About the 19 of September she started rolling one of the eggs out. Now I know they do this if the egg is bad or the egg is going to hatch late and they don't want it. But, she is not the best at hatching, so I wasn't sure if she was just getting bored or what. well my husband went out to open the gate in the morning and found a very wet baby (just hatched) duck about 20ft. from the Muscovy duck. it was cold so he tried to put it back, but she didn't want it. So, he cuddled and cooed to him until he was dry and warm, then he put him in a box in the house. well here is the funny part. The baby imprinted on my DH lol, so he can't go anywhere without little Ferdi . He would have died if it wasn't for my DH. So now we have a little buddy.

Now my question is..Is Ferdi a girl or boy? I think that Ferdi is a she.




"She" is still spoiled rotton and when she talks to us we do as she demands lol. She does live with the rest of them now, but comes in the house for visits all the time. Her and Noodle are great friends and it's neat to see them laying together.

Your story is sooo cute!! As I was looking at your pictures, I thought the dog looked just like one my friends (who moved away) had. Then when I saw his name...Noodle, I KNEW nobody else could possibly have named their dog NOODLE!!! HI Julie!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your little duck is the black sheep of the family. Is she any relation to my old ducks? I don't have any over here. I want to get some CallDucks again though!

no relation to yours. Max(her father) came from PA and her mom was an offspring from Danny's moms. It's so nice to see you. I was wondering how you were. I want callducks too. lol but my want list is so long it will be awhile.
Noodle and Ferdi are great friends. They talk to each other, it's so cute.

Tree it's funny, but they really do talk. Ferdi makes her little peeping noises and Noodle makes a small whine or mmm.. sort of a really small grrr. it's hard to explain.
They seem to know what the other is saying.
