ok ima gonna try to quit smooking AGAIN!!!

i tryed the cold turkey thing... works great....... for 6-9 months...... but then after playing hide and seek with the cops for charges of atemped murder.... i pick them back up again..

i tryed changeing brands... normaly i soon go back to my fave brand........ or in the case of the last atempet i got hooked on a much more expancave brand.......

i tryed gum and patches..... guess im not that havy a smooker as they made me sick as a DOG.

this time im tryin something differant.

sooooo this time my arsenal to kick this habit is all new...
1. ten pack of water filters..... said it removes tar nicateen and other junk.. piff well see. said one filter for up to 20 smooks
2. roll your oun tabaco. mm bugler brand. NASTY TASTING CHIT...... hence the next idem
3. large colletion of flavored papers.... curently i have cherry, blueberry, peach, vanilla and strawberry.
4. a baggy of normal filters
and last but not lest...
5. a roll your oun machean if you will.... mmm little funky lookin band og plastic over some rollers. tinny ass thing with the filter added you get like 2in of smokeable cigeret

ok game plain....

they say if you can hang out just 3-5 min of a craveing to light one up you have won most the battle for that craveing..... mmm ok if they say so i guess we will see huh?

sooooo if this is true. lol

i timed my self.... in order to make 1 smook by hand it takes me 3 and a half mins. each idem is in a seperit baggie and in tupper where boxs...... sooo i have to open the taboco.. open my tupper where box for my other suplys. pick a paper pull it out of its little zippy bag. and pace it back in. pic a filter do all the same with the baggy thing. open the baggy for the machen.. place the filter in the machean add in the tabaco roll it add the paper roll and lick that and roll again. then remove the smook and then twist it in to the water filter then PUT ALL THAT STUFF BACK A WAY befor i get to light it....

maybe it will be come to much of a hasle to deal with and more worth my time to just wait it out tell the next craveing??

lmao dont know if this will work but its worth a try. lol

Mommy, i am soooo proud of you. I'm on your side all the way. And I know you can kick it..

I was a heavy smoker for at least 20 years, and tried to quit at least 50 times. Then on the 29th of Aug. 1997 I said, "this is it, I quit" and haven't had a smoke since..
The stuff you see on the filter is just a very small amount of stuff in a cigarette. There's over 500 chemicals that's approved to be used in tobacco processing.
They don't use all of them all the time, but they can use them if they want to.

So do it, don't just think about it...quitting is no big deal, anybody can do it..staying quit is the greatest thing you'll ever do.

I have tried also. I am very proud of our Anna...she did it!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!! I switched to Nat Sherman brand. All natural tobacco...no additives. Still doesn't mean it is any better for you, but it is less the bulk of the chemicals. Yes, I too am looking to kill this nasty habit before the year ends. So...watch this space.

WC...with all those cutsy flavored papers, I would be inclined to want to smoke more. But...after you saw the water filter, I am sure it has but a huge damper on the testing of new flavors.

Anna, that's soooo great that you quit..Congratulations..

And Deb., I'm with you too..But I'm not too worried. I'll bet you can do anything you set your mind to..

And I'll bet I have less willpower than anybody in the world, so if I can do it anybody can.

You know why I think a lot of people fails if they listen to the pros.? They say you should quit everything that makes you want to smoke, while you're quitting.

Like certain foods, coffee, sex, and whatever..I think that's a big mistake. That's like trying to quit a lot of habits at once. The last time I quit and suceeded, I just gave up smoking, I kept right on doing everything else. I'm sure that's why it worked that time..I had tried many times before *their way* and it never worked.

And I do believe that the only way to quit is, just quit..there's lots of good reasons to quit, but give yourself a special reason. I quit 2 days before my birthday. I said I'm giving myself a birthday present I'll never forget. Lots of money, that I won't be spending on smokes, and a few extra years.

Well, since I am just moi, the only thing I could give up would be certain foods. And, technically I am only addicted to fish and veggies...best not cut them out of my diet! tee hee

Yes, I have done the "quit for someone else", "quit for the kids", "quit because not smoking is more acceptable"...I have used patches and gums (which, like WC are WAY too strong and the patches even landed me in the hospital on over dose I guess) and have gone cold turkey (for the wrong reasons).

This time, it is just going to happen and then be no more. No big discussions, no pats on the backs, probably not much of a hint at all to it's coming to be. Just done. No longer a part of my life. The only special reason for me will be the thought of a few extra years of gracing the world with my sassy wit and cheeky grin.

Thanks Ed for your compliment. I guess maybe I am strong and determined...but deep down inside I'm just a little girl too. Sometimes I don't feel I can do things and just want to be held...lol. I know, sounds silly, sappy and weak. But sometimes I just get tired.

You'll do it. If it was easy no one would smoke..all the experts says it's a lot harder for women to quit because the enjoy it more than men do. I guess they actually get more out of it..most men smokes just to be doing something. They get enjoyment out of it but not as much as women do..
This is not my opinion, it's what I've read.

I too have heard that, that it is as tough for a woman to quit smoking as it is for a cocaine addict to go clean.

Gives me such warm and fuzzies

Want some more warm and fuzzies? The next time you're sitting in a chair, or lying in bed, just close your eyes and let your mind wander. Imagine that you're going past a cemetary. You look up on the hill and you see that there's a funeral in progress. You haven't heard of anyone you know dying, but you decide to go up there and offer your condolences. As you get closer you notice that you know some of the people there. Then as you get even closer you notice that you know all the people there. They're all your friends and family. They're all crying and hugging each other, such sadness you've never seen. Then you go over to the coffin to see who it is that's made so many people so unhappy. When you get to the coffin and look in you realize why no one noticed you when you walked up. Twisted Evil

Sometimes you can be such an evil little shit.

Besides, except for maybe a handful of friends here, I don't think there will be anyone around to care much. neener Nice try though.

lol you guys are funny as heck, but its true its hard as heck to just quit... i never heard of it being harder for women then men befor but i guess that makes sence in a way really.

the prob is that i do INJOY smokeing. and i do rely on it in hard stressful times like a drug....

i will also admit i think it is a drug. as it will also make me very dizzy some times and sick feeling as well. YET i still keep doing it out of a physicl feelin of need for the nicateen. knowing maybe ill be dizzy or sick for a few min BUT THE KIDS AND HUBBY WILL live to see a new day. lmao

i do get really bitchy if i try to cold turkey it.. and at this time of year im wondering if i made a mistake to try to quit now. with deprestion and the halidays and my mother in law just callin to tell us she is now unable to walk and in a wheelchair. and the kids with school and the other with ears and the bills and and and ect ect ect......

oo hell who knows. but so far its almost 9pm here. i woke up at 7am this morning. so fair to day i have only had 5 roll your own smookes to day. and that is compaired to the about 15 i normaly have daily.

its a start i hope.

i got your back deb you can always call and talk to me if your wanting to try not to light up. Smile ill lison and not get my feelers hurt by all the mean nasty things youll say. lol

and as for the grave yard thing...... LMAO honestly death is not all that bad... in fact is a wonderful and awsome thing... not hting to be afrade of.... been there done that... and one day when God calls me home for real.... i know there is no such thing as sadness. sooooooo the grave yard and death dont worry me not one bit.... all though its hard for the others that stand befor your caskit....... they to will be cared for in their time. and one that is bigger better stronger and much much much MUCH more loveing them my self.

i pray all PARTY at my death...... i would ask that you do not cry for me.. and if you just must cry.. then you cry for your selfs... cuz YOU POOR SUCKERS WILL STILL BE HERE TO CARRY ON!!!!!!!!HAHAHAHHAH ill be kickin it with Jesus havein tea and cakes.. not even thinkin not one bit about you all... i think i just might even ask Jesus for that bug eyed austen heally for the gomer and i..... well be doin bordies on the golden roads of heaven WOOT haha.

Dont buy the carton just the pack. Each time you buy a pack make it a different brand.........filtered and unfiltered, menthol and not.............and by the time you have cleared the rack you wont like any of them any more.

Mommy, dying doesn't scare me. It's how I die that scares the hell out of me. It took my dad about 5 years of gasping for every breath, and dragging an air hose around everyplace he went. And now my mom is doing the same thing. I almost cried, and probably did a little Saturday when I went to see her and watched her face twist up every time she took a breath. I know every breath she took was painful.
My parents taught me many lessons in life. And the last one my dad taught me, and the one my mom is teaching me now is to try and prevent as many people as I can from going through the same misery as my dad did, and my mom is going through.

My dad passed away in 89, and mom won't be with us over a few more months. And it was all caused from smoking.

Ain't she sweet? I only have two goals in life..one is to prevent animal cruelty and abuse. And the other is to try and prevent human cruelty and abuse. Both is caused by humans, so it's a hard job I do.
