he looks up at me as ask " do you think its possable to have the sound of wind inbed its self apon a spinning disk at hi volisity?"

"no but really mom think about it. the wait of the wind cased by the gravitational pull with the forse of added rotation. whouldnt that make the wind leave a imprestion on the disk?"

wtf........ no terry not the wind but maybe particals in the air. NOW GET READY FOR SHCOOL put your shoes and socks on.

WC...look up sand dunes. Then sit down with Terry tonight and have the same discussion. The weight of the wind draws it's patterns in the sand.

Now, if he could find something 'soft' enough, yet controlable (wouldn't fly away in the wind) he might be able to 'draw the wind'.

well yeah the image of wind or movement of stuffs with the wind we talked about but he "i think" means to record the true sound of wind its self with nothing more the dencity or wight of the wind its self on a disk or some sort?
piff i dont no lost me at "but no really mom think" think is not something i do well at in teh mornings when my coffee can is empty. lol

If he is after just the true sound of the wind, he will never be able to obtain that. There are too many variables and forces out in the world. There will always be at least mircoscopic matter having an influence on what is recorded. If he wants to see how the wind would look like on a 'disc', then the pictures of the sand sculpted by the wind would give him a starting point to work from.

I would like to see his results if he persues this. Very interesting indeed...and now I am seriously late for my meeting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mm well yeah maybe your right. but then again hun just a few short years ago they said you coudl never use light to creat sound.......... lol yet today we all carry a CD in our car or home.

now that i think about it ........ maybe what he really is meaning..... is the sound of the wind... mm maybe the sound of silance...... if that makes sence

thinkin of our debait htis morning and all. i wonder if what he means is to recoud the sound of what we call silance? maybe wind is not the real word he was lookin for. meaning we can see the eficts of the wind in a image like the sand dunes. and we know that soundwaves to cary in the air/wind. and we can see its efets of said sound waves on sand or water or what ever. in a "image"

BUT what truely is the TRUE sound of wind guys?? if you think about it. the sound of wind or air as we know it is always created by what the air or wind is beeing past through of over or a round. makein whisleing sounds or gusting sounds or even russuly sounds. BUT have we ever REALLY HEARD the sound of wind or air its self?

air is made up of malaules..... thes malaules have to make some sort or vibrations as they mix and move a round. is it posable to force that sound ever so very faint it might be "silance" as in some kind of image readable and playable for the human ear?

and if so what woudl be the use of such a thing? what is the point? is it to our advantage to firgor this out for some other expairaments conclustions?

Air is wind in a way, and they use compressed air to cut metal..like Deb. said, if you had something soft enough I don't see why it couldn't be done.

The sound we hear when the wind blows, is the vibrations of the air passing around, over and below objects. Like through the trees. Or when he is spinning something, the sound is the object moving through the air.

he spent the week end digin around in the gerage after all dans old diagrams books and such for building leaners and radios.

he has asked for 2 things for x-mass. one a pockit kniff for learning to widdle. and theother is a satering iron. LMAO.
