repair of your two cycle engines

Post by Belair54 on 9/24/2008, 10:02 pm

Ok folks,,,,,,,,all homesteads and farms have a variety of small engines of the two cycle variety that occassionally need TLC..................post your problems, list your engine and lets see if we cant get some of those ole things working again.............

My first advise.......................buy quality in the first place............... What a Face

My lawn mower is a push mower...the only engine to it is me. My weed wacker is electric.

Can't say as I need help in this area as I have avoided it like the plague! lol

Wow, some body posted somethin I gotta stay more alert....................

Yes this new gas, small amounts of it will destabilize very quickly and the ideas is to remove the old gas from the carb and replace it with fresh so the darn things will start easier.........................

Wait, whoa, hold on a sec. You mean we aren't just supposed to park them in the back of the garage/barn and go buy new ones when they quit working.

Oh man, I'll never be a homesteader at this rate will I. LOL

Lol, that's what my girlfriend did before I came here..Now we've got 4 riding mowers, 3 push mowers, and I can't even count all the electric heaters..and they all just needed minor repairs.

OK, we've done gone and taken care of all the broken equipment in the garage. Of course, with my fixit plan we'll have to buy some new things next spring. LOL! The push mower and the riding mower were hauled away by the scrap guy up the road. The tiller we will actually fix (hey that one is easy, just needs the pull cord).

Making progress! And, the animals can eat the grass so you don't need a mower anyways, but a tiller is important...need to unearth the worms for the girls to fight over them...lol.

We have a serious tiller that we love to use. It's a 5' wide one that fits on the back of the tractor. Although I think the kids get a bigger kick outta the fresh tilled ground, worms for fishin' and add a hose and presto a nice mud hole. Ahhhh, the joys of country life.
