My pup has parvo

Post by ajharris on 8/16/2008, 6:26 pm

I took my german shepherd pup to the vet this morning. He has parvo. The vet gave him a 1 in 15 chance in living. Ace was fine yesterday and the day before. This morning when I went to check on him, he wasn't moving. His gums are really pale, and his mouth was cold. He was pooping blood, so I knew it was parvo. I sure hope he pulls through.

Oh shit. I'm so sorry to hear this. Don't think of him as one of the 14...he is the one of one at the moment. I will pray for the best.

I pulled a Cocker Spaniel through when they didn't give him a chance. Ace may make it yet.

yall need to vaccinate all the dogs there. Those pups especially. Sad
You can order the vaccine from valleyvet, get the soloject-5. Don't get the 7
Otherwise your probably going to end up with a bunch of sick dogs. I think you have to wait til pups are 6 weeks old. Hopefully they won't get it before they get there. Sad

I don't vaccinate hardly but need to catch mine up on parvo. Its been 3 years i think.
I have to get the soloject 5 cause Gkar is allergic to lepto.

And we don't really need lepto vaccines.

The vet said the GP pups should be fine as long as they are nursing. Mandy's pup hasn't been here in over a month, so hopefully the contamination here is nil. He said the older dogs aren't in any danger. I will talk to him again about the pups in a week or two. Smile

Ace didn't make it. I didn't think he would, but I hoped he would.
