My Poor Dog is Miserable

Post by Okie on 8/9/2008, 5:22 pm

My poor old Mama Dog is ready to have pups any time. This will be her second litter, but her first during the heat. The Summer weather bothers Great Pyrenees anyway, but it really bothers a pregnant one. I'm kinda glad that my husband is on the night shift and sleeps through the heat of the day. He doesn't see those two big dogs take a swim in his Koi Ponds. to funny

No pictures yet, but the pups have arrived. They are back under a camp trailer. I have the back skirted because the trailer is the North wall to a garden. She had them are far back against the skirting as she could. Mandy saw at least 7 pups, but one was dead. I'm gonna leave her a alone for a few days and then get a better look at them.
Thank Goodness she didn't have this bunch in the house. The 8 last time were a mess and a half. LOL

I will try to get some pictures taken today. After the wild time they had that first day, I didn't mess with them too much yesterday. Mama has cleaned most of the mud off of them, but there is still a little clump here and there. I am just glad I realized how hard it was raining and went to see about them that first night. I truely believe that if I had waited another 15 minutes, they would have all drown.
I looked them over enough yesterday that I can now report, there are 2 girls and 4 boys. Smile

Glad to hear that the new little family is doing well and safe and warm. Yes, it is a good thing you went out when you did. Me, I am such a sucker, I would have her and the babies in the house...lol. So what f there is a mess...lol.

I went that route last time. It was like having a herd of buffalo in the house. Smile

I am to, but with an 8 month old baby in the house, I let the dog have use of the camp trailer this time. She is in a nice dry place. I even left the door open and a little bumper board across the door so she can go in and out, but the pups won't fall out. Smile

Here for your viewing pleasure.
Chloe and her puppies. I am only posting one picture at this age. They get so much cuter as they age that I will post many pictures. Beware, you will fall in love. Ask Sarah, she has two from the last litter. LOL

Awwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like the little white one, laying furthest away from mum, with nose pointed away from her.

Pretty please. Very Happy

Done deal. I will expect you to pick it up in about 6 weeks. ROFL
These dogs are so neat. The spots will fade into their undercoats and they will all be white. The pup Mandy has had a totally brown colored head. Now you just see a hint of color under and amongst the white. I keep asking myself why I waited 45 yrs to ever get a Great Pyrenese. They are a super good dog all the way round. Smile
