Marvin

Post by ferdismom on 3/25/2008, 6:55 am

Marvin passed away Easter night, and I'm having a very hard time with his passing.

Marvin was a min. German Pincher that was living off scraps that my DH and others (workers at the factory where my Dh works) fed he was about 2 years old and starving. My Dh finally caught him in Jan and brought him home. We fatten him up and loved him completly. He would wiggle whan we came home and was so happy in his new life. We did have some rough spots and he never learned to respect the poultry, but I loved him with all my heart.

Now my heart is broke. Easter night we let him out after the chickens were shut in like we always do, because he likes to run in the woods behind our house. After a few hours my Dh went out and called him, he usually comes back about that time. He didn't come, so my Dh and I went in search of him. by now it was dark. My Dh walked along our road that runs right along side of 412 a main highway. And when a car went by my Dh saw Marvin laying in the road. Marvin had been hit. There was nothing we could do. We think he heard us calling and was crossing to get to us when he was hit, he was still very warm. I just can't stop crying, I have never had a dog hit before and I keep blaming myself for letting him out. I'm just so sad.....

comfort

I wish there were words to make things better. You gave him the greatest gift of all, true love. You fullfilled his need. It was his time to move on. I'm soooooooo sorry you are feeling this pain. I wish I could make it better.

I know the feeling. But they come and they go.

What's left are memories. That doesn't go...

Most especially the part that you know you gave him a new life. and I'm sure he loved you back.

I've got a few in mind here.... now if only I was living near your area....
